Dr. Norman Orschel graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1982. From 1982 through 1983, he was a Dental Resident at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto where he studied several disciplines, including wisdom teeth, oral surgery, anesthesia, IV sedation, and emergency dental treatment. He gained invaluable experience performing general dentistry and dental surgery on hospitalized and medically compromised patients. After associating with another general dentist for two years, Dr. Orschel set up his first family dentistry practice in the Edward Plaza at Edward Street and Yonge Street in Aurora. Many young families moved into Aurora during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and several found their dental home at Dr. Orschel’s practice.
During this same time, Dr. Orschel and his wife Nancy made Aurora their home for their son and two daughters. Dr. Orschel coached soccer for 14 years with the Aurora Youth Soccer Club and was a coach and hockey trainer for the Aurora Minor Hockey Association for over 11 years. He has always enjoyed playing and to this day, he looks forward to playing hockey twice a week, with the York Oldtimers Groupp.
His diverse interests include hiking -- especially when he visits the family out West -- gardening, and visiting the family cottage in Haliburton. As a family dentist, he enjoys all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry to help people rebuild their smiles and keep their teeth for a lifetime.
